An Ode To Our Mothers...

I hear your heartbeat within me, I feel you within me. Who am I? I am a mother!
I help you open your eyes to this beautiful world. Who am I? I am a mother!
I hold you while you take those wobbly steps for the first time. Who am I? I am a mother!
I withhold my tears when your tiny hands leave mine to hold your first teacher's. Who am I? I am a mother!
I strain my already tired self just to console you when you are scared at night. Who am I? I am a mother!
I watch the time race ahead, but wait patiently for you to eat first after you return weary due to work. Who am I? I am a mother!
I pop a pill at times to keep up a strong front to let the home run in tune. Who am I? I am a mother!
I forgo my meals to keep you full. Who am I? I am a mother!
I sacrifice my happiness to put yours ahead. Who am I? I am a mother!
I pose a pleasant disposition even though I am broken from inside. Who am I? I am a mother!
I rest way past bedtime after all have rested their tired backs. Who am I? I am a mother!
I raise you with all the best values and morals just to give you to the right individual as his/her better half. Who am I? I am a mother!
I pray for your well being even though latitudes do us apart. Who am I? I am a mother!

Today my shoulders have drooped and my body aches with age but I want you to sleep peacefully in my lap once again, I still wish to feed you till the last morsel, I look forward to cuddle your children and relive your childhood yet again. Who am I? I am a mother!

In this fast pacing world we often forget the most important individual in our lives, our mothers, who still treats us just the way she did ages back.
We often knowingly or unknowingly hurt them but they take all with a smile on their face.
There's no way we can thank them because that would belittle them.
But till the time they are with us, we can always shower them with unconditional love, affection and care, for none can take their position.
This one's to all our mothers!
